Mary L. O'Neal Cobb age 95 passed away on Sunday, February 27 at the home of her son, Jerry. She was born in St. Petersburg, FL to Thomas Bryant Seamons and Emma Gertrude Seamons.
Her early years were spent in McMinnville, TN where she graduated from McMinnville Central High School(TN) and attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN
She provided a beautiful home in Chattanooga, TN where she raised her family, loved to entertain and enjoyed gardening; growing beautiful flowers and vegetables.
She also enjoyed cross stitching, flower arranging, reading, knitting and volunteering.
She moved to Greenville after the death of her first husband and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Greenville Country Club.
She was predeceased by her husbands; George H. O'Neal, Jr and John F. Cobb, her parents and 3 sisters. She is survived by her sister, Tommie Seamons Coleman.
Additional survivors are her 2 sons; George O'Neal, III (Benjamin) Asheville, NC and Jerry O'Neal(Jennifer) Greenville, SC her grandchildren; Bryant O'Neal (Tina Jenks) New York City, NY, Erin Garrett(Jamie) Willow Spring, NC, James O'Neal (Katherine) Greenville, SC, Mary Jacqueline McGrath (Tom)Greenville, SC and Chris O'Neal Greenville, SC. She also has 5 Great Grandchildren; Sophie, Abbie, Mary Martin, Emma and Margaret.
Her memorial service will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, SC with interment to follow at the National Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN.
