She worked as a school teacher and librarian in Kountze, TX until her retirement. She read all of the time, and was a life-long student, obtaining her Ph.D. She also loved her eight cats.
Survivors include five nieces, two nephews, one brother and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bryan H. Lewis.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Graveside Committal Service for Ms. Lewis will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Chaplain David Plooster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for P.A.W.S Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison.
