EDEN ― Coulborn E. Barkley, Negro, 77, a retired farmer, died in his home Saturday after a short illness. He was the son of the late Arrick and Esther Barkley.
He is survived by his wife, Ada; four sons, Elihu, Marshall, Alexander, and Oliver Barkley, all of Eden; five daughters, Mrs. Annie Palmore, Newark, N.J., Mrs. Lillian Williams, Asbury Park, N.J., Mrs. Gladys Dorman, near Fruitland, and Mrs. Helen Hearn and Mrs. Lula Porter of Eden. Fifteen grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Flowers Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Handy, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church Wednesday after 1p.m."
