He was born in Hamilton, NY, on May 5, 1933, a son of Raymond and Jenny Kimball and received his education in Hamilton schools. On April 11, 1959, Lawrence married Jean B. Marsh in Utica. She predeceased him on October 15, 2010. Lawrence had worked for Chester Jojo in Utica until retiring. His favorite hobbies were fishing and camping.
Surviving are his children, Jenny and George Switzer, of Leonardsville, George Kimball, of Waterville, Barbara Maine, of Herkimer and James and Katherine Kimball, of Bridgewater; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew and cousins.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Doane; a son, Lawrence H. Kimball, Jr.; brothers, James, Phil, George, Robert and Joseph Kimball; and sisters, Marion Carey, Esther Kimball and Patricia Rose.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no services. Interment in Crown Hill Memorial Park will be private.
