Joyce Kay Harris

Joyce Kay Harris, 77, of Sturgis, Michigan, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at her home. She was born April 25, 1944, in Bristol, Indiana, daughter of the late Jennings G. and Bonita (Kelley) McKibben.

Joyce resided in Sturgis since 1981 coming from Mottville, Michigan.
She was a homemaker and cared for her grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed movies and never tired of watching "Little House on the Prairie." She also enjoyed time in the outdoors, flower gardening, feeding the birds and had a special appreciation for rabbits. She was a true fan of Elvis Presley. Joyce loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Kristine Cox and Joyce (Tom) Nisley, both of Sturgis, and Tammy Douangmala of Goshen, Indiana; three sons, Eric (Penny) Blood of Goshen, Indiana, and Rodney (Candice) Norman and Jeffrey (Brenda) Wanamaker, both of Sturgis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Leslie) McKibben of Shipshewana, Indiana; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jadine Stone, brother Gerald McKibben and fiancée Rick Sweet.

In accordance with family wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Joyce Kay Harris will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Joyce's memory consider the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, 3333 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45229.
