Jerry L. Brown

Location and Date of Death: Georgetown, Texas – March 4th, 2022.

Born on July 23, 1940 in Haskell, TX; the first son of Joe Alton Brown and Goldie Ann Brown.

Preceded in death by his stepson, Anthony (Tony) Fales; his parents; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Survived by wife of 31 years, Diana G. Brown of Georgetown, TX; one son, Monte Brad Brown of Woodbury, MN one daughter, Kimberley Brock of Canyon Lake, TX; two precious grand-daughters, Megan Brown and Ashley Fales; one very special grandson, Mark Flores; first wife and mother of his children, Lynda K. Brown of New Braunfels, TX; one brother- Randal Brown of Vernon, TX; one sister- Joann Patterson of Oklahoma City, OK; as well as numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.

Grew up in Goree, TX; graduated from Goree High school in 1958. Attended McMurray College in Abilene, TX and the Air University at Maxwell AFB, AL.

Served in the US Navy from 1961-1963 aboard the USS Lexington and USS Kitty Hawk in the Pacific.

Began a career as a meat cutter in 1964 and progressed rapidly in meat market operations in a number of retail grocery chains for a period of 20 plus years.

Following this successful career, began a career in Federal Service in 1982 at Sheppard AFB, TX. Held various positions within the Air Force and Department of Defense with the Defense Commissary Agency. Held positions at military installations in Texas, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, and abroad in England and Germany. Culminated his career by reaching the top position in the Agency headquarters and was instrumental in developing the Central Meat Processing plant providing meat products to all military installations and American Embassies within the European theater.

Jerry and wife Diana had the unique opportunity to work together at the same locations and travel extensively within their job assignments for most of their careers. They both retired at Ramstein AB, Germany in 2002, moved to Lampasas, TX, and later to Georgetown in 2004.

After some years of retirement, returned to the workforce, working for the Georgetown ISD in the maintenance department. He loved physical work and finally realized his dream of an outdoors job.

He loved to sing and remembered lyrics from years ago, loved to nurture large vegetable gardens, had a passion for flying and most memorably, loved to laugh.

He cherished his family and his Catholic faith. Attended St. Helen Catholic Church and participated in various ministries there. Most special to him was his service as a Eucharistic minister (EME) to the homebound and sick of the parish.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm, March 11th, 2022 at St. Helen Catholic Church

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 pm, March 11th, 2022 at St. Helen Catholic Church

Burial will be held at a later date at the Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, TX.
