Larry started in the dry cleaning business in 1961, eventually becoming a partner with his parents in One Hour Martinizing Cleaners in South Bend, Valparaiso, Niles, Three Rivers, Sturgis and stores in Illinois. In 1984, the family sold the dry cleaning business. Larry then worked for John Howard Painting until 2000, when he returned to the cleaning business with Peggy as Clark's Corner Cleaners on Portage Avenue until he closed in 2013.
Larry served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). Larry loved his two cats, "Sam" and "Princess".
Since 1981, Larry & his wife, Peggy, traveled all over the United States to CMA Rally's, visiting many interesting places and meeting wonderful fellow believers. When he started having health problems, it wasn't easy giving up traveling and camping with CMA. Then Larry started to attend car shows and enjoyed the fellowship with like minded car guys.
Along with his loving wife, Peggy, Larry is survived by his daughter, Barbara Montgomery of Sun City, Arizona; two sons, Jason Clark and Jesse (Kelly) Clark, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren; his sister, Sharon Smith of Albion, Michigan; and his nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Leora Clark; son, Clarence Clark; and his brother Ronald Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, where friends may visit from 10:00AM until time of services. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
