Betty "Betty Boo" Lewis, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother and friend entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the age of 72, while at Chateau Living Center, under the care of St.Catherine's Hospice. "Deanie" as she was affectionately called, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 1, 1949, to the late Henry "Sonny Man" and Sadie "Mamo" Coleman.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Shelia LaFrance; 6 sisters, Shirley Hart, Williemae Rodgers (Marvin) of Washington D.C., Loretta Lyons, Johnniemae Williams , Jessie Robertson,, Elizabeth Blackmon; 2 brothers, Lester Coleman (Georgia) and Peter Coleman Sr (Dorothy); 1 grandson, Jacque LaFrance Jr.; 1 godchild, Kowanna Lyons Joseph; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Betty loved her family and was the light of any party she attended. Her love and presence will be missed greatly.

Relatives, friends of the family, members of Branch Bell Baptist Church, employees of New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA), Rouses and Anita's Restaurant are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at her church home Branch Bell Baptist Church, Elder Kevin Williams Sr. will be officiating her home going service at 1231 St Maurice Street, New Orleans, La. 70117 on Friday February 25, 2022, at 10:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am
