Ms. Betty Jean Anderson departed this life on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after battling a long illness, at the age of 65. She was born at Charity Hospital on July 9, 1956, to Mr. & Mrs. Oscar and Dora Bell Wilson. Ms. Betty "Boo" as she was affectionately known, gave her life to God at an early age. She was baptized as a member of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. She worked as a CNA, then Secretary at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center for over 30 years until she fell ill. Ms. Betty learned and lived the scripture, "Through God, All things are possible". She loved her family and friends dearly, and was always there to lend a helping hand. She had one child, Mr. Kendrick Anderson, whom she loved with all her heart. She loved to cook and "people watch", as she called it. Ms. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Kemond Anderson, and siblings Lucille Windend, Jessie Anderson, Jr., Debra Anderson, Carolyn Thonton and Ledell Wilson. She is survived by her only son Mr. Kendrick (Dionne) Anderson and her siblings Ms. Icee Mae Faust, Ms. Ann Stewart, Ms. Cora Ann Owens (James), Ms. Justine Perkins (David, Sr.), Mr. Kenneth Wilson (Alecia), Mr. Curtis Wilson (Angela), Mr. Bobbie Wilson (Alicia) and Mr. Terry Wilson (Michelle). She had a special place in her heart for her Godchildren Mr. David Perkins, Ms. Angela Roberson and Ms. Erica Willis Carter. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and Friends of the family, also Pastor, Officers, and Members of Nineveh Baptist Church are all invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00am at Nineveh Baptist Church 1009 Wilker Neal Ave. Metairie, LA. 70003. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Interment in Providence Park. Due to COVID-19, everyone attending is required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing.
