Billy Wayne Foster was born in Eakly, Oklahoma, on July 16, 1947, to Carrel Lee Foster and Mayme G. Birge. He passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; brother, Carrel Lee Foster; and daughter, Jill Ortega.
He is survived by sisters: Myrtle Clingenpeel of Houston, Texas, Betty Jo Nelms and Francis Foster, both of Guthrie, Oklahoma; brother, Curtis "Jackie" Foster of Warr Acres, Oklahoma; children: Cynthia Brantley of Guthrie, Michael Beeler of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Tiffany Mcvenes of Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Bill and Norma had legal custody of two of the great-grandchildren, Marlee and Amber Ortega, for the last 10 years.
After graduating from Bethany High School, Bill joined the Army. After four years of service, he returned to attend UCO in Edmond, Oklahoma and over the years earned his Business and MBA degree. Bill lived and worked many years in Guthrie. He was a true entrepreneur. He loved Guthrie and enjoyed starting and building businesses to support his local community.
Bill enjoyed travel and unexpected adventures, like a summer spent in Hawaii on the beach in a Winnebago, a road trip to Acapulco, Mexico, and even traveling cross country on his motorcycle. He loved family gatherings in his home for any and all occasions. He built two homes with "great" rooms to accommodate his large family and extended family members. Later in life his adventures were lived through starting new and exciting business ventures, even getting into online sales with a grandson who taught him much about computers. He also enjoyed visiting local restaurants for his glass of unsweetened tea and visiting with friends to find out all the local gossip and solving all the world's problems! Bill loved to read when he was not playing taxi driver for Marlee and Amber to see friends, doing after school activities, or making their daily trip to the local Walmart.
Bill had a lung transplant 10 years ago. He thought of these last 10 years as "bonus" years and tried to enjoy each of them to the maximum.
