Dorothy grew up in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Michigan. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Griffin in 1944. For over seventy years, they enjoyed their love for each other and raising their three children. Dorothy embraced being a mother and a pastor's wife with grace and humility.

Later, Dorothy earned her degree and teaching certification and began a second career teaching second and third grade. She was a musician and a talented pianist. She also had a love and passion for art and created many stained glass pieces and paintings, which her family and others will continue to enjoy for many years to come.

She had a love of travel, taking frequent trips with Robert, including Europe and Israel. Her travels also focused on visiting with family across the country. Dorothy and Robert eventually built a cabin in Divide, Colorado where they enjoyed many Christmases and summers. The cabin also provided the perfect gathering place for family. Dorothy's family continues to cherish the many wonderful memories that were created there.

Dorothy was an amazing cook! She loved to bake. Her fried chicken, apple pie, coconut cake and sugar cookies were second to none.

Survivors include her children, grandchldren, and 22 great grandchildren!

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vivian and Elva; brothers, Russell and Jackie; husband, Robert Lewis; twin daughters, Katherine and Donna; son, Timothy and grandson, Robert Edward "Bobby".
