Preceded in death by his first and third wife (yes, he married her twice) Dorothy Jean Arledge Bales, second wife Doris Douglas Chane Bales, daughter Denna Rene Bales Collins Robins, his parents, sisters Cleta Pearl and Mabel Ruth, and bothers Gene, Weldon and Leo. Survived by daughter Darlene Bales Leach, husband Perry Eugene Leach, son Thomas "Tom" Edward Bales, wife Christine Bales, twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He worked in the Oil & Gas Pipeline industry most of his life, traveling the world to build pipelines. His favorite memories were from his time spent in Alaska, he loved to talk about how fascinating the bears were. He was loving and always willing to help folks out when they needed it. He also loved to play 42 dominos and was always wanting to play anytime he could get 3 more willing people together. He and Dorothy married in 1951, divorced in 1963 and remarried in 1987 to 2001. He retired from the pipeline company in 1995 and they moved from Dallas, TX to Liberty Hill, TX.

Our thanks and gratitude to the staff, nurses, and aides of Wesleyan Skilled Nursing, Rehab, and Hospice of Georgetown. They have been like family to us and always cared for Harold ("Ed", Daddy-o, Papa) like he was their own.
