MRS. LYDIA MCCOLLUM DIES
She Was Highly Respected Resident of Mankato Township.
Mrs. Lydia A. McCollum, widow of, the late Archibald McCollum, and a resident of Mankato Township for the past forty-five years, died yesterday afternoon at five o'clock at St. Joseph's hospital, death being caused by diabetes. She was sixty-nine years old on November 4, having been born In Long Prairie, Minn., in 1848. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Alexander, and came to this vicinity with her parents in 1854. She was married to Mr. McCollum in November, 1864, in this city. They made their home in St. Clair for some time, and then moved on a farm in Mankato Township. Mr. McCollum died December 12, 1914.
Deceased was an estimable woman, a member of the Baptist church, and the Kennedy Bridge Ladies' Aid society. She is survived by three daughters and four sons, Mrs. Arthur Ore of Decoria; Misses Lucy and Minna McCollum, who reside at the family home; William E., Mankato, Asa L., Mankato township; James A., Timber Lake, S. D., CIayton Timber Lake, S. D., four brothers, Joseph Alexander, Mankato, James, Brainerd; Richard, Nebraska; Newel, Madison Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Otto Phelps, Good Thunder; Mrs. L. J. Wilcox, Sauk Center. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the Kennedy Bridge church, Rev. W.R. Hobbs officiating. MFP 11-23-1917
