Carl Friedrich, Graf von Pückler-Burghauss, Freiherr von Groditz [full given name: Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Lothar Erdmann] was the son of Friedrich Wilhelm Anton Erdmann, Graf von Pückler-Burghauss, Freiherr von Groditz, and his wife, Ella von Köppen. He was a member of the German parliament during the Weimar Republic. During World War II, Pückler-Burghauss was chief of the Waffen-SS units in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and also temporarily commanded the Latvian Division of the Waffen-SS.

He was married on May 20, 1913, to Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg, Herzogin von Sachsen, the daughter of Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg and his first wife, Prinzessin von Preussen. They had two daughters and one son, who died shortly after his birth.
