A Useful Life Ended with the Death of Sarah E. Merrin.
On Sunday Morning Miss Sarah E. Merrin, aged over sixty years, died at her home, the Merrin homestead in Berlin township, typhoid fever being the cause of her death.
Her death is mourned by five brothers and two sisters: Mr. W. L. Merrrin and Jacob E. Merrin and Misses Ella H. and Anna D., who reside at the homestead, Mr. T. P. Merrin of Berlin township, Mr. L. W. Merrin of Freeport, Ill., and Mr. J. C. Merrin of this city.
She was one who "took mother's place" and she was esteemed for her noble Christian character, and noted for her many acts of charity and benevolence. Her loss will be deeply mourned by those in the home circle, and also by her many friends. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church of Fredericktown.
The funeral services will be held at the late residence at 9:30 o'clock, standard time, tomorrow morning and will be conducted by Rev. C. A. Cutler of Fredericktown. The remains will be placed in the Fredericktown cemetery.
