Ms. Dorothy Mae Abshire, 82, of Mountain Home, passed away March 4, 2022 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born on January 15, 1940 to Sidney and Evita Foreman in Abbeville, Louisiana.
Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife. She married her husband, Nelson, on December 4, 1958. She was an awesome mother to three sons. She loved the Lord and was a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed listening to country music, trips to Tunica, and playing bingo. She absolutely loved cooking and eating cajun food. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. She was very loved and will be missed by many.
She is survived by two sons, Nelson (Janetta) Abshire and Robert (Shannon) Abshire, two grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Nelson Abshire; son: Richard Abshire; and five sisters: Margie, Theola, Gladys, Enola, and Yoland.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Roller Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Leopold as celebrant. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.
