Thomas D. "Tom" Taylor, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on March 3, 2022 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born to the late Howard and Mary Taylor on October 14, 1935
Tom was a long time resident of Lancaster, Ohio but spent most of his life in Williamstown, West Virginia where he attended Williamstown High School and would later become a member of the Williamstown Lodge #129 and Shriners. He was a Master Mason, spending 63 years as part of Freemason brotherhood. Tom also served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Fort Shelling, even helping to christen the ship. He went on to work for A.G.A. Gas for 20 years until his retirement. Tom was a man of God with a firm belief in Jesus which supported him and ultimately gave him peace. He was blessed with a loving family whom he devoted his time.
Tom is survived by his children, Julie Doughty, Jan (Glen) McCabe, and Brian Taylor; step-children, Mark (Margeta) Bailey; Anita (Scott) Peters, and Betty (Doug) George; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Butch Taylor.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joretta Taylor; brother, Fenton Taylor; and parents.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on March 8, 2022 at 1 PM in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. A live stream of the service can be seen on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.
