Memorial services will be Friday for Ruth Rowena Newberry, who died Tuesday. She was 70.
Mrs. Newberry was a native of Turlock. Before retiring to Santa Cruz in 1967, she was a supervisor for the John Inglis Frozen Food Co., Modesto.
She is survived by her daughter, Marleen Flannery of Santa Cruz; son, Richard Brewster of Modesto; sisters, Laura Childers of Loomis and Mary Rhea of Carmichael; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at White's and Wessendorf Chapel, 138 Walnut Ave. The Rev. Roy Kraft will officiate. Private interment will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Contributions to your favorite charity are preferred.
