Mark Andrew Shelley, a lifelong Oilton resident, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2007 in Oilton, OK at the age of 43 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in the Christ Fellowship Church in Oilton with burial to follow in the Highland Cemetery.

The son of Bill Shelley and Virginia (Haney) Shelley, Mark was born on April 26, 1964 in Drumright, OK. He was reared and educated in Oilton, attending the Cimarron Christian Academy. As a young man, he began working for Steve Crowder, then began working for Matrix as a welder. Mark had also worked as a welder and general laborer for Sooner Tools in Drumright.

Mark had been baptized in the Christ Fellowship Church as a young boy. He loved hiking and exploring with his son Andrew and many will remember his dry sense of humor and wit.

Survivors include his son Andrew Shelley of Claremore; parents, Bill and Virginia Shelley of Oilton; brother, Bill Shelley, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Oilton; sisters, Sheryl Ellis and her husband Paul of Oilton and Rebecca Martin and her husband Mike of Oilton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents.
