Lynndel Dean Old, 88, of Yates Center, Kansas, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Yates Center, Kansas.

He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Vernon, Kansas, to Chester Ralph and Ethel Mae (Randall) Old.

He was raised in Chanute, where he graduated from high school and junior college. He received a degree in agriculture from Kansas State University and farmed in Woodson County, raising peaches and strawberries.

He was a member and elder of the First Christian Church, Yates Center.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Clara Lois Donovan on June 14, 1947, at Lamont, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Jerry Old, Kansas City, KS, and Ralph Old, Wichita, KS; a daughter, Arlene Doyle, Peoria, IL.; a sister, Ardis Bachus, Wichita, KS; and four grandchildren.

Funeral was at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center, Kansas.

Memorials suggested to Yates Center Senior Center or Friends For Life.
