Madison Courier---May 6, 2002

Jesse C. Vaughn, 99, of 1335 Wells Drive, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born Feb. 10, 1903, in North Madison, the son of Luther and Beulah Webb Vaughn. He was a lifelong resident of the Madison community, having worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad as a welder for 43 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the North Madison Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Helen L. Farley Vaughn; one son, Ken Vaughn of Tupelo, Miss.; two granddaughters; one grandson; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sarah Vaughn; and three brothers, Eugene, Joseph and Russell Vaughn.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at the Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the North Madison Christian Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
