Professional Baseball Player. He was a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox for 10 seasons (1952 to 1953 and 1955 to 1963) and the Baltimore Orioles (1963). In his 10-season career with the Boston Red Sox he had a record of 83–72. His best season came in 1959 when he went 11-6, with an ERA of 2.95. His career ended in 1963 with the Baltimore Orioles after only seven appearances, due to a knee injury he received in the 1962 season. In his entire career he posted a record of 84-75 in 329 games of which he started 147 and made 31 saves. After leaving baseball he went into sales. In 1988 he and his wife retired.
