It was a cold, clear winter day in Phoenix, Arizona on December 13, 1971, when James (Jay) Aldon Tucker, Jr. made his entrance into this world!! Jay was the youngest child and only son born to his mother and, father, James, Sr.; his arrival was eagerly anticipated by his parents; two older sisters; grandmothers, Barbara Murphy and Gladys White; and Aunts.
He was a bright, curious, adventurous child who loved fishing at Papago Park, digging big holes in the family's backyard, tinkering with things, and collecting Hot Wheels & action figures. He grew into a man of strong opinions, a man with a beautiful smile, and most importantly, a man who loved his children and mother, deeply. Jay was a Journeyman electrician for 30+ years. He was an avid, eclectic collector and enjoyed rock concerts with his kids.
Jay's family began their grieving on March 02, 2022, when he passed unexpectedly. He is survived by his mother; two sons and one daughter; two sisters; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jay was a beloved son, father, brother, nephew, and cousin who will be missed by many.
On March 19, 2022, Jay's life was celebrated by his children, family, and many friends in services held at Angel Cremation & Burials in Mesa, Arizona. Jay was cremated and his remains were placed with family members. In December 2023, after 18 months of determination and effort, Jay's oldest son was able to create a memorial cenotaph to honor his father's memory. A headstone was placed at spot 1590 at City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.
