Patricia "Pat" Ann Blanding Hill was born in Jackson, Michigan, on June 16, 1939. She passed away on February 12, 2022 following an extended illness.

She graduated from Jackson High School and attended Michigan State University. In 1959, she married Gerald "Jerry" Hill and moved to Danville, Indiana, where their two children were born.

The family saw the world as a result of Jerry's career as a pilot with the FAA. They lived in Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Battle Creek, Michigan; Tokyo; Minneapolis; Oklahoma City; Honolulu; Frankfurt, Germany. After brief returns to Battle Creek and OKC, the couple retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, in 1992.

Every pilot needs a co-pilot and Pat was the perfect partner for Jerry. Whether at a formal State Department dinner or relaxed family gathering, her combination of elegance and often wacky sense of humor captivated any and all audiences. She considered raising their two children her career and she enjoyed every minute. She said they were her pride and her life's work.

The Hills were also alive with the sound of music. That was because music was Pat's happy place. She loved playing the piano and organ and singing songs from "The Sound of Music" and other musicals. Her beautiful voice filled the rooms of their homes - and other venues - around the world.

Wherever she lived, she found a place in the local music community. She sang with the PEO Singers for many years and was a member of Chapter DE. She sang with the Crystal Chimes, the Cedar Mountain Singers, and the Village Chorale. She served on the boards of the Symphony Guild and Village Choir. Pat was active in her church, where she served on the Altar Guild, worked on many committees with the Episcopal Church Women's Group, served on the Vestry and sang in the choir.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Flora Blanding, and a grandson, Maxwell Aronson
