Walter Lee Ward, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Bethel Pointe after a long illness.

He was born on October 6, 1937 in Allardt, Tennessee, the son of Raymond W. and Chestene A. Ward and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1956.

On June 5, 1965 at DeSoto United Methodist Church, he married Marilyn "Joanie" Knight.

He was employed over the years at Smith's Nursery, Paul Abel Buick and also the body shop manager of Meeks Motors. After some schooling, he became an insurance adjuster for Allstate Insurance until his retirement in 1994. After retirement, he was the owner, along with his wife Joanie of Mills Lake Mobile Home Park and Campground. Walter was an avid NASCAR fan and worked on racecars locally for many years.

Walter is survived by his wife, Joanie whom he'd have been married to for 57 years this coming June; three daughters, Diana White (Jeff), Lisa Rodriquez (Joseph) and Becky Allford (Rick).

He was a proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Ray Ward; one grandson, Jordan Anthony Allford; one brother, Jimmie Ward; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 with his daughter, Lisa Rodriquez officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
