Don Ray Freeman, 81, of Lamar, went to heaven, Friday, March 4, 2022, in Fort Smith. Don was born on January 5, 1941, in the Summerland Community, east of Hagarville, to Norman Lee and Essie Marcella (Thomas) Freeman.
Don married the love of his life on June 3, 1961. He was a member of Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church; a member of Clark Deer Camp and enjoyed watching baseball and football, fox and deer hunting. He worked at Firestone Tire, for over 27 years, was a cattle farmer and raised pullets for 30 years.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; wife June Freeman; a brother Delmer; an infant brother, Lonnie; and a niece, Angie Waldo.
Don is survived by one son, Michael Freeman; one daughter, Karen and Thomas Nelson; grandchildren: Kayla and Eric Fryar, Jason and Sky Freeman, Summer and Justin Pitts, and Cole Nelson; great- grandchildren, Mia Hamilton, Jase Deal, Clara Freeman, Kenna Fryar and Kelsie Fryar; nieces and nephews: Jackie Harris, Bud Freeman, Luke Freeman, Becky Hardgrave, Sherri Deal, Brian Roper, Mark Waldo and LeighAnn Blackmon; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church with Bro. Dewayne Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Annie's Chapel Cemetery with Jason Freeman, Cole Nelson, Eric Fryar, Justin Pitts, Luke Freeman and Brian Roper serving as pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mercy Hospice Care and Don's caregiver, April Pennington.
