Charles Cliburn rites held at Crooked Creek
PRENTISS Services were held Monday afternoon from Crooked Creek Baptist Church for Charles E. Cliburn, 48, who died Saturday.
Rev. D.W. Green and Rev. Toxie Hedgepeth officiated and interment followed in the Cliburn Cemetery with Saulters Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Dick Welch, Lennis Welch, James Walker, Jim Cockrell, Fugate Cockrell and Orbie Craft.
Mr. Cliburn was a native of the Crooked Creek Community where he formerly farmed. He was a veteran of WW 2 and for the past several years had been a patient at the VA Hospital in Gulfport.
At the time of his death he was residing in the Robert Seal home in Hancock County. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Ollie Cliburn of Tylertown; a daughter, Mrs. Hollis Hodum of Mendenhall; one grandchild; two brothers, Hubert and Howard Cliburn, both of Houston, Texas.
