Wanda was born July 11, 1952 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Will and Frankie Cates. She grew up and attended school in Oklahoma City. She moved to Bakersfield, California in 1985 where she lived for 10 years; then moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona where she lived for another 10 years. She later moved to Olney, Texas where she met her husband, Charles Stewart. She eventually returned to make her home in the area around Davis, Oklahoma.
She was married to Charles Stewart and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Sam and Sandy Owens, John Wright III, Samantha and Brian Nava, and Dianna and Chantale Wright; 9 grandchildren, Dylan, Christian, Alena, Alyssa, Abigail, Christopher, John, Jacob, and Amanda and a great granddaughter Aaliyah; 2 sisters, Linda Branham and Mary Harper; and brother Donnie Cates, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends that she held dear to her heart.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, W. L. and Frankie Cates, her husband Charles, and sister Barbara Vails.
Wanda lived a happy life spending time with her family. She recently moved to Purcell and was so happy to have met some amazing neighbors that she immediately called her friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
