Patsy Lou (Pat) Holmes, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 28, 2022, after a brief illness, just two weeks shy of her 90th birthday, in Gulf Breeze, Florida. She was born March 13, 1932, in Kiowa, Kansas, the eldest daughter of Paul and Ella (Humphrey) Holmstrom. She attended schools in Wichita, El Dorado, and graduated from Kiowa High School in 1950 . Pat had a beautiful voice and her own senior recital upon graduation. Throughout her life, she sang at many funerals and church functions.
In 1951, she married Ron Holmes. They had four children: Valerie Bryant, Mitch Holmes, Dan Holmes, and Krista Hilton (Steve). She was blessed with grandchildren, Nicky Bryant, Ali Murrow, Stephanie Bryant, Lacey Bryant, Shaylen Holmes, Shanell Peterson, and ten great grandchildren.
Pat was a wonderful homemaker, a great cook, seamstress, and mother. Her hobbies were crafting, sewing, and playing Bridge. She was also an avid reader. She was on the Kiowa Library Board and the Border Line Theatre Board for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Brad Bryant, and grandson, Cameron Williams.
