Janet J. Jones Thompson, 88, of North Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at her residence. She was born September 1, 1933, in Cudahy, WI, the daughter of Frederic and Mary (Rosicka) Kruger. On September 8, 1951, she married Carl Jones in Waukegan, IL and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1979. Janet worked for Red Owl Grocery for many years. She was a member of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Janet enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Post Lake and Delta Lake. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Gail (Jim) Patt of North Fond du Lac, Kathy Jones of Neenah, Jeff Jones of Fond du Lac, Brian Jones of Neenah, and Jason (Lisa) Jones of Neenah; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Kruger of Milwaukee; stepchildren, Tom (Pam) Ruka, Patty Thompson, and Teri Thompson all of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Elaine Norton of Spooner; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jones of Redding, CA; her best friend, Judy Buelow of North Fond du Lac; her neighbor, Gary Wood; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; her ex-husband, Earl Thompson; son, Daniel Jones; her siblings, Mae (Carroll) Surges, Fred (Dorothy) Kruger, Alice (John) Marcoe, and Dorothy Kruger; sister-in-law, Marie Kruger; brothers-in-law, Erving Jones of Oregon, and Ray Norton of Spooner.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held, beginning at 7:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service. A private family burial will take place the following day in Calvary Cemetery.
