Bud was born on December 3, 1972 in Cumberland County, but his roots ran deep in Harnett County where he served for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety for 22 years. He was a loving and devoted husband as well as an amazing father, and brother. He was a friend to all, his presence made you feel welcome and safe. He had a smile so large he exuded Christ, a heart of gold. He was passionate about serving locally and abroad. He had a love for all things sports and was very competitive. He was a one of a kind best friend to those who he extended his heart to and never knew a stranger.
He was a true family man who dearly loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha Sue Davis, J.D. and Viola Whitley; his parents, Howard Warren Davis, Jr. and Wanda Cayton.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Shannon of 26 years, his son Clay and his wife Mariah, his daughter Emmy and her husband Austin, his sister Kelly and her husband Billy, grandfather Howard Davis, and an abundance of family. He also leaves behind a community of friends who witnessed his legacy.
He will be greatly missed by everyone he knew.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 3:30 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC, with Pastor Andrew Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church prior to the funeral from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
