Maxine (Alberty) Harshaw, 91, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Cherokee Nation, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was born on April 26, 1930 to Sam and Mary (Redbird) Alberty in Hominy, Oklahoma.
She married Floyd Allen Harshaw, Jr. on February 19, 1949, in Muskogee. They enjoyed many years of marriage and memories together until his death in 1997.
Maxine was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Muskogee where she served for many years.
She was preceded by her husband, Floyd Allen Harshaw, Jr.; parents, Sam and Mary (Redbird) Alberty; sisters, Katherine Alberty, Ahniwake Benge, Lucretia Alberty; brothers, Eugene Alberty, Dewey Alberty, and John Calvin (Alberty) Fortune.
Maxine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay and Brad Henderson of Fort Gibson, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Michelle Harshaw of Edmond, OK; granddaughter, Lindsey Harshaw; grandsons, Josh and Becca Henderson, Joe Henderson, and Luke Harshaw; great-granddaughters, Thea Henderson and Evie Henderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Maxine's life will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 111 S. 7th Street, in Muskogee.
