During his youth, he joined Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, MS and remained a faithful member until some health issues. At Mt. Zion, he served as Trustee, Finance Committee Chairperson, and he (along with Mr. W.H.Steele) implemented plans to build the Mt. Zion Fellowhip Hall.
He received his education from George Washington Carver High School and Neshoba Central High School in Philadelphia, MS.
He met and then married the love of his life, Glenda Ann Clark, where they had two children, both sons; however, he was the father of one other child, a daughter.
He was employed by U.S. Motors in Philadelphia, MS for over 25 years. Within the Longdale Community, he was a member of the Longdale Braves Baseball Team, Longdale Hunting Club, and he always wanted to help the community in any way necessary.
He died February 23, 2022, at the age of 69.

Coleman Coleman Parks, Candra Coleman Brookshire, Essie Coleman Gamble, and Embershene Coleman; the Step Brother of Esther Ruth Barfield Williams, Joanne Barfield, Robert Lee Barfield, and Annie Ruth Barfield Rich; the Adopted/God Brother of Pearl Cole Williams, John "Lil John" Cole, and Jones Cole; the Paternal Grandson of Burley Coleman and Ella Legrone Coleman; the Maternal Grandson of Charlie "Bud" Westerfield and Iva Houston Westerfield; and the Maternal Step Grandson of Clara Houston Westerfield.
