George Proffitt, age 70, of Annville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Pearlie Lawson Proffitt; four stepchildren, Sally Sherman & husband Joe, Bennie Ray Smith, Aaron Dwayne Henson, all of London, KY, and Betty Ray of Corbin, KY; three siblings, Martha Bentley, Clyde Junior Proffitt, Beulah Howard; his sister-in-law, Katherine Proffitt, plus a host of grandchildren, greats and great, greats as well as other family and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death his parents, Dan and Fanny Bruner Proffitt; by his stepson, Carlo Henson; three siblings, Harrison Proffitt and his wife Nancy, Bobbie Benge & her husband Denver, and J.D. Proffitt; and by two brothers-in-law, Don Bentley, Arliss Howard.

George was a farmer, and he attended Lighthouse Tabernacle in Manchester, Kentucky. He liked to hunt deer, turkey and turtle, and also liked to fish and garden. He loved being outside and loved his family.

Funeral services for George Proffitt will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 3:00 in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Dale Lawson and Robert Hatton officiating. Burial will follow at the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
