Edward J. Cook of Ardmore passed away Tuesday February 22, 2022 at his home. He was born April 30, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pa to Jean Dempsey and Edward J, Cook, Sr. Ed grew up in the Manoa section of Havertown, Pa. and graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School and Cardinal O'Hara High School.
Ed was a happy, kind, down to earth gentleman who had a great laugh and loved being with people!. Always willing to lend a helping hand, which was well known by his neighbors when he was operating his snow blower up and down his street. Ed's greatest love in life was his family, his wife, Diane, daughter Caitlin, son-in-law Dan and he adored his grandson, Danny. Ed always kept in touch with all his siblings keeping everyone abreast of what each was doing.
On July 24, 1982 he married Diane P. Rufo, they have made their home in Ardmore for the past 33 years. They were members of St. Denis Parish. Ed also belonged to the Italian American Club in Ardmore.
Ed was an Auto Mechanic for most of his career. He is retired from Calvary Cemetery. In his free time, he enjoyed NASCAR, news programs especially FOX News, and playing Sudoku.
Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Diane, his daughter Caitlin and her husband Dan Harkins, his adored grandson, Daniel Edward Harkins and siblings Bill Cook (Nancy), Philip Cook (Ann Marie), Jean Murray (Tim), Jim Cook and the late Michael Cook (Patti).
Family and friends may call 9:30 to 10:40 AM followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Saturday February 26 in St, Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown, Pa. 19083. Interment is in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa.
