Blair, Stephanie Lynn (Ulman) Age 74, of Rosemount, MN, died peacefully at home in the presence of family, Friday March 5th, 2021. Stephanie, now at peace, is looking down upon her family and friends, smiling and visiting with those who went before her. No doubt she has a parrot on each shoulder and a dog at her feet. Stephanie is survived by her beloved husband Mike who was her rock and confidant of 55 years, two children Tamara McNamara (Rob Just) of Rosemount, and Andrew of New Prague. She is survived by 6 grandchildren: Blair, Kaitlyn, Meghan, Connor, Owen, and Samantha. Stephanie was born in Rochester, MN on May 31st, 1946. Stephanie grew up in Minneapolis where she later graduated from Washburn HS in 1964. She received her BS in Nursing from the U of M in 1968. Mike and Stephanie attended Washburn together but met at the U of M Episcopal center in 1964. Stephanie and Mike married in 1966 and later moved to Burnsville and Apple Valley where they raised their two children. Stephanie was very proud of the work she did as a nurse working in public health, labor and delivery, critical care, cardiac care, and mental health. After 20 years of nursing Stephanie retired but kept working as a wife, bird breeder and even a school bus driver. Stephanie was never afraid to try new things. Stephanie's love of nature was front and center in most of what she did. Stephanie spoke fondly of time spent as a child at her family's lake place in Aitkin, MN. She loved long hikes through the woods, hour upon hour in the garden, sitting on the porch with her parrots listening to the birds outside, and sitting on the deck with Mike while looking down on Sibley Lake in Pequot Lakes, where she spent her last 10 summers. Stephanie was creative and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, knitting, and painting. Stephanie would always give you her opinion, asked for or not, unflinchingly and without a filter, letting you know what she thought. She also always let you know she loved you. Stephanie was not overly religious but was a spiritual person in nature. Stephanie knew deep down she would be reunited with her family, friends, and beloved pets in the afterlife. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.
