According to writings of William Alfred Kibbe (s/o Amos), Amos died a short time after he went to St. Louis, at the age of seventy-five or seventy-six years. The second wife of Amos lived for a number of years after his death, and finally went to live with a son-in-law, on the Illinois river, where she died.
