Carolyn was born on January 24, 1938, in Beaumont to Charles F. and Nettie Beatrice Plake. She attended Phoenix Union High School in Phoenix, AZ. However, she had to stop attending school in order to care for family members. Carolyn received her GED in 1996 at the age of 58. Carolyn accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal savior when she was a young child. She spent the rest of her life, living for and serving the Lord. Carolyn was a long-time member of Eastview Church of God in Kilgore. Being a minister, she was involved in every area possible, including singing in the choir, singing solos, and children's ministry. Carolyn was always willing to help in any way necessary. Carolyn had a heart for people, always welcoming the lonely, broken and hurting into her home. Providing them with a good, hot meal, a warm hug and she always shared the love and grace of Jesus with them.

Carolyn was reunited with her parents, husband Jack W. Meadows, grandchildren Carl E. White, Jr., John Gabriel "Gabe" Meadows, siblings Betty Chappel, Jackie Halbert and Robert Plake.
