Nazi leader. Rattenhuber was a German police officer who became the head of Adolf Hitler's personal security in the nazi regime. He was an SS-Gruppenführer and head of the Reichssicherheitsdienst (RSD) security service. He was in Hitler's bunker in Berlin at the end of World War II, and he was captured by the Soviets and held until 1956, when he returned to Germany. Records of his death conflict with the date shown on his grave marker.
