OBITUARY

Shirley Marie Allen
JULY 9, 1935 – FEBRUARY 20, 2022

Shirley Marie Allen, 86, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three children, on February 20, 2022. Shirley was born on July 9, 1935, in Salt Lake City Utah to Berkeley T. and Gwendolyn F. Chandler. Shirley attended Cyprus High School and learned the value of hard work at a young age working various jobs and helping to raise her two younger siblings Carole and Lynn. Shirley enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing softball. She was an avid outdoors woman who loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing. It was Shirley who would be sitting at the lake until dark or during wind and rainstorms "because that's when the big one's bite." Shirley was also a great coach; she coached her husband, Bob, and children at numerous trapshooting events helping them to win many competitions. Shirley loved to play the slot machines, which helped pay for many trapshooting events, and looked forward to trips to Wendover with Bob. She was an ardent shopper who would shop for hours trying to find the best deal or the perfect gift for a family member. Of all the things Shirley enjoyed, it was spending time with her family she cherished the most, especially birthday parties and Sunday dinners. Shirley will be remembered for her wisdom, generosity, and love and devotion to her family.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents, grandson Danny, and brother Bobby. Shirley is survived by her three children, Mark (Tiffany), Linda (Greg), and Julie, five grandchildren Michelle, Janell, Brielle (Theo) David (Brittni) Aspen (Eric) nine great-grandchildren, sister Carole and brother Lynn.
