Robert Wesley McDowell, 71, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at his home. Robert was born April 22, 1950 in Panama City, Florida to parents Louis Rubin McDowell and Ann Jeanette Woodward McDowell who preceded him in death.

Robert loved to talk and visit with his family and friends. He loved his grandchildren dearly and always enjoyed telling them stories. Robert was a family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones. He loved history, reading, watching his TV shows, woodworking and building model boats; many of which he built from scratch. Robert especially loved his wife Candy whom he lovingly referred to as "Momma". He will be truly missed.

Mr. McDowell leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of nearly 40 years Candy McDowell; children Jeremy Owens and wife Jannifer, Wendi Kelleher and husband Ryan, Kaysie Owens, Robert Cody McDowell and Krystyna Harper; grandchildren Alex Romo and Alexandria Milam, Kristina Romo and Westen McDaniel, Max Livingston, Jaysie Livingston, Sophia DelGreco, and Liam Kelleher; great-grandchild Sylas McDaniel along with numerous other relatives and friends.   

A visitation for Robert will be held 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Sterling-White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas with services to begin at 2:00 p.m. Mr. McDowell will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 12:45pm.
