Phillip graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1991. He attended most of his school years at Mississinewa Community Schools. Phillip attended Indiana Wesleyan for a year, and then went on to complete his associate's degree in Social Work online. Phillip worked at Cummings in Avon, Indiana, for 7 years as a Peer Support Specialist focusing mostly in the field of rehabilitation with the mentally ill and drug and alcohol programs.
Phillip faced his own set of challenges throughout his life with physical disabilities. He never let anything get in his way. Phillip was a fighter and had a strong desire to be a part of the world. He loved to drive anywhere. Phillip was very tech-savvy and always had the newest technologies. He loved music, animals, singing, and most of all his family. Phillip will truly be missed.
Phillip is survived by his parents, Phillip (Joann) McGhee, Sims; and Pamela (Larry) (Southerland) Spurgeon, McCordsville; his sister, Sherry (Scott) Buckley, Fishers.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Lynn Lambert.
Arrangements for Phillip were entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928. There will be a visitation held at the funeral home on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., with the funeral beginning at 1:30 P.M., with Pastor Noah Farmer officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City, Indiana.
