Patricia "Pat" Cleaves Harris, age 89 of Forest City died Monday, February 28, 2022, at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills. She was born June 4, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland and was a daughter of the late W.S. and Kathryn Horner Cleaves. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Elmer Harris, her brother Rodney Winfield Cleaves, and her sons-in-law, James Braeden Smith, and John Douglas Shell.

Pat enjoyed many jobs in her lifetime, including as a Clerical Secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and she later worked for Central Business Supply. Many will best remember her as the owner and operator of Pat's Record Den. Her hobbies included breeding, raising, and showing Persian and Himalayan Cats, traveling to different places, including her yearly trip to Charlestown, West Virginia as well as a cross country train trip and her trip to Hawaii with all her family which was so special for her. She was also a longtime volunteer at Rutherford Hospital where she was awarded for her work as a volunteer. Her family was important, and her favorite thing was having them all together and around her.



Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Davis Smith of Mill Spring, NC and Sharon Davis Shell of Forest City, NC: two sons, Cleve Terrell Davis (Mickey) of Forest City, NC, and Terrell Scott Davis (Cathy) of Waynesville, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren Jeremy Belew, Traci Curtis (Alan), Jennifer Henderson (Michael), Brandon Davis, Tim Allmond and Ryan Davis (Sarah). There are also eleven great-grandchildren: Gabbi, Cara, Jeremiah, Addison, Isaiah, Gavin, Noelle, Emma, Ellie, Andy, and Marilynn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock on Thursday, March 3, 2022, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend David Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
