Rebecca Ann Tyler, 68, of Cowen, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Mease Hospital, Tampa, Florida, after a short illness. She was born June 29, 1953, in Richwood, a daughter of the late Andrew Clay and Wavie Williams Barnett.
Becky was a graduate of Cowen High School and attended Glenville State College. She was a former home health worker and sold school supplies for the Sports Connection. She had a green thumb for her flowers, gardening, and yard, always wanting it to look the best. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Becky was always helping others and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her children, Chad (Laura) Tyler of Tampa, Florida, Wesley Tyler of Rock Hill, South Carolina, siblings, Paul (Lynn) Barnett of Knoxville, Tennessee, George (Becky) Barnett of Victoria, Texas, Sue (Jody) Cogar of Bolair, and Jeanie (Gary) Carpenter of Lake Wiley, South Carolina, grandchildren, Briana (Carson) Lee, Landon Tyler, Lucas Tyler, Jimmie Tyler, and Olivia Tyler and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, husband Jimmie Tyler, siblings, Phillip Barnett, Johnny Barnett, Kay Setliff, and Tina Fuller preceded her in death.
Services were held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 4, 2021, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Rev. Marty Cowger officiating. Burial followed at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. A gathering of family and friends was held from 1:00 pm until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. A luncheon for family and friends was held after the service at Leslie's Gym.
