William Ernest "Ernie" Harrison, Jr., 90, of West Hills Drive, died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Duke University Hospital. Born February 5, 1932 in Union County Mississippi, he was the son of the late James Hadie Craig Harrison and William Ernest Harrison, Sr. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in industrial engineering. Ernie retired from Campus Sportswear where he worked as district manufacturing manager and was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ where he formerly served as an Elder. After he retired Ernie and Mary Ann served as campground hosts at Satterwhite Point and Bullocksville Campgrounds. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and time spent with all of his family members.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home conducted by Brother Curtis Nelson. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Sparks Harrison of the home; three sons, James Robert Harrison (Dale) of Oxford, William David Harrison (Kim) of Raleigh, and John Anthony Harrison (Marcia) of Georgetown, SC; eight grandchildren, Dr. William Thomas Harrison (Jessica), Victoria Moser (Patrick), Courtney Hollinger (Jeremy), Megan Harrison (Chris), Hunter Harrison (Kelsie), Rachel Dereventsov (Anton), Jonathan Harrison and Kaitlyn Harrison; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Curry and Libby Milton.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Harrison, Hunter Harrison, Jonathan Harrison, Jeremy Hollinger, Anton Dereventsov, Chris Brandon, Jayden Eastman and John Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Henderson Church of Christ, 1211 Dorsey Ave., Henderson, NC 27536.
