Dennis Stephenson
1937 – 2022

Dennis Stephenson, age 84, passed away on February 18th, 2022 in Murray, Utah from natural causes. He was born on March 8th,1937 in Preston, Idaho to Carvel B. Stephenson and Lois Josephine Smout. He married his beloved wife Pauleen Beth Dygert on February 3, 1967.

Dennis was a Purple Heart Vietnam War veteran who served as an intelligence officer with the United States Army. During the war he served in Panama, Vietnam, California, Asmara Eritrea Ethiopia, and Colorado. Dennis graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor's degree in English and Idaho State University with an MBA. He later retired from the Business Information Systems Division of the Utah Department of Corrections. Dennis and Pauleen also served a senior mission in a Spanish speaking branch of the LDS church.

In his spare time Dennis enjoyed golfing, woodworking, riding motorcycles, and pen making. He earned his private pilot license in his own Cessna and then spent five years building a second airplane with his wife and sons.

Dennis was known for patience, kindness, and love for his family. He never raised his voice, but instead employed a subtle deep sigh to communicate.
