She lived the past sixty years in Hinesville. During the war years, she move from her family's Iowa farm to New York City to work as a radio operator for Trans World Airlines. In later years, she worked as a secretary with Civil Service on Ft. Stewart. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hinesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jarve E Bennett; and son-in-law, Dennis Barbee. Surviving are her two daughters, Anna Barbee and Julie Barbee (John Barbee); nine grandchildren, Carol (Keith), Dennis (Kendal), Paul (Celina), Linda, Susan (David), Deborah (Don), Aaron (Michelle), Adam (Leslie), and Martha (Ben); and twelve great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Liam, Victoria, Jordan, Cameron, Caydance, Isabella, Jadon, Joel, Kerith, Desmond, and Samara.
