Geraldine (Bradley) Brown of Maumelle passed from this life on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the age of 92. She was born Saturday, October 12, 1929, in Cherry Valley, Arkansas to the late Thad J. and M. Lucille (Lawrence) Bradley.

Geraldine grew up and attended school in Cherry Valley. During World War II, she took to writing letters to American soldiers stationed overseas. Her pen pal was a young soldier named Mack S. Brown. They continued exchanging letters until he came home from the war. On Sunday, February 27, 1949, Mack and Geraldine were married. They were married for forty-three years before his passing in 1992.

Mrs. Brown was an active and dedicated member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time studying the Bible, fishing, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Mack Samuel Brown Jr.; grandson, Mitchell Brown; siblings, D.W. Bradley, Jessie Wayne Bradley, Elbert Bradley, and special sister-in-law, Louise Bradley preceded her in death.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Gail Mobbs (Mike) of Greenbrier, Melvin Douglas Brown of Lonoke, Rebecca Lynn Harrison (Ray) of Perryville, Ruth Ann York (Scottie) of Sherwood, Daniel Wayne Brown (Cynthia) of Maumelle; grandchildren, Barbara Wilson, Doug Brown Jr., Samuel Harrison, Kevin Brown, Michael Mobbs, Leslie Smittle, Rachel Ruff, Heather Frost, Emile York, Scott York, Aaron Brown, Caleb Brown and Sarah McDonald. Other survivors include twenty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dearly loved friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Spencer officiating. Interment will follow at Mayflower Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Geraldine's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
