He was born on March 12, 1932 in Grayson County, KY, to Lewis Willis and Mary Huffman Lashley. In 1955 he married his first love, Wilma Jean Powell.

He was saved and baptized at age 16 and was a member of Antioch General Baptist Church in Peonia. In recent years he had attended Stones View United Methodist Church near Duff.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, a founding member of American Legion Post 81 and a charter member of Leitchfield VFW Post 12175. He was a plumber and home builder by trade and he enjoyed fishing, bowling and hunting.

He is survived by his three children, Vickie (Donnie) Mullins of Bowling Green, Scott Lashley, Chris (Frances) Lashley, his bonus son, Robert Saltsman (Tammee) and his second love, Katherine Shain all of Leitchfield; and his beloved cat, Sweetie.

Also surviving are his care-givers, Ginger Robinson and her husband Mike. We couldn't have made this journey without them.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, his twin sister, Bernice, and four other sisters, Odessa, Marie, Frankie and Viola; and nephew, Earl Moore.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (March 4, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Billy Compton will be officiating. Burial will be in the Prewitt Cemetery with military honors presented by American Legion Post #81.
