Betty Sue Bachman, age 80, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 in Tazewell, Virginia.
She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Eunice Hill and Mary Watson Hill. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former nurse. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: James Eric Juan Sawyers, Mark Anthony Sawyers, and Keith Young; sisters: Lillie Kitzmiller, Dorothy Kennedy, and Bill Jean Underwood; brothers: Worley Hill, Robert Elswick, and Russell Elswick; and granddaughter, Natasha Horn.
Survivors are:
Daughter: Carolyn Hess and husband, David of Pounding Mill, Virginia
Son: Robert Bachman of Goldsboro, NC
Daughter in Law: Carolyn Young of Swords Creek, Virginia
Ten Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Betty Sue Bachman will be conducted Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Hill Family Cemetery on Horton Ridge near Raven, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Robert Bachman, David Hess, Adam Crouse, Grant Lowe, Aiden Lowe, and Keith Young.
